Cheaper international air travel over the last decade made it possible for people in all income brackets to travel to far flung destinations and visit places that they could only have dreamed about before. If you find some nice souvenirs whilst there then you can find out how much it will cost to send them to distant friends and relatives and let them know that you are thinking of them. It will probably be easier to have them sent from the UK when you get home, rather than Somaliland.
